Description
A ca. 1790 Pennsylvania Chippendale walnut tall case clock, the dial signed Richard Chester, Hanover. The swan’s neck pediment with carved rosettes above an arched hood door flanked by reeded columns with brass capitals, the painted iron dial with a rocking moon phase over twin hemispheres and a calendar ring, Roman numerals within floral and fruit painted spandrels, over a waisted case with a shaped door, on a paneled plinth and ogee bracket feet. 94.5”H x 20”W x 11”D.
Condition
Bonnet attached to the case, brass works, painted iron dial, presently not working, missing hands, part of the bracket foot missing, other repairs, no weights or pendulum.
