A bronze bust of Antoine Maurice Apollinaire, Comte d’Argout, after Honoré Daumier (French, 1808-1879), from the series Les Célébrités du Juste Milieu modeled circa 1832 and cast by the Barbedienne foundry, Paris, for Maurice Le Garrec between 1929 and 1953, stamped MLG within an oval cartouche at the reverse, with a dark brown patina, mounted on a stepped ebonized wood base. Retaining an old French label numbered 31 and inscribed Comte d’Argout. Bronze 5.5”H x 6”L, overall 7.5”H.
