Central Persia, mid-20th century. Pure silk on silk. Small area and collector's rug. Approx. 73 x 39 cm. Signature. The finely proportioned inner field features a stylized prayer niche with a central medallion, densely filled with floral and symbolic ornaments in ruby red, turquoise, ivory, and warm ocher tones. Particularly noteworthy is the woven-in signature in the cartouche field, partly worked with metallic threads, which indicates high-quality workshop craftsmanship. Very high knot density, excellent detail and vibrant silk sheen. Complete all around, very good condition.
