The shakers all have a handsome fluted design on the bodies and removable pierced covers. Two of the shakers were made in England by William Comyns of London. The other two shakers were made in the United States and retailed by Howard & Company. The two English shakers are hallmarked on the sides of the bodies and on the insides of the lids with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard’s head for London, and a maker’s mark of WC for William Comyns. One of these shakers has a date letter of ‘n’ for 1908, and the other has a date letter of ‘r’ for 1912. The two American shakers are each marked on the underside with Howard & Company, Sterling, and the product number 3611. All four shakers are also marked with a swan French import mark. All four shakers have some dents and dings here and there, most noticeably on the tops of the covers. Otherwise, the condition is excellent. There are no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals, no breaks, and no repairs. Each shaker measures 2 1/8 inches in diameter at the base and 5 inches tall. The combined weight of the set is 328.4 grams or 11.5 ounces.
