Mid Century Chalkware Lamp- Village Children

Description

Two children-back-to-back, yet intimately connected-form the heart of this mid-century lamp.

The boy stands, barefoot and tousle-haired under a yellow hat, a dark scarf knotted loosely around his neck. His sunflower-yellow shirt is tucked neatly into dark brown trousers, their cuffs casually rolled up, as if he's just emerged from a nearby stream. In his left hand, he holds a plump red apple, as though offering a present; with his right, he tugs gently on the hem of the girl's skirt beckoning her attention.

The young girl, bashful but serenely composed, wears a pea-green blouse and dark green skirt. Her dark hair, covered by a green floral scarf frames her beauitiful face. She holds up her apron brimming with flowers in shades of pinks, sunny yellows with one hand while the other rests shyly on her chin.

Together, they stand on a patch of lush, verdant earth beside a weathered stone wall
