Pair of painted wooden Orthodox icon panels depicting the Prophet Jeremiah and Prophet Elijah, each shown full-length with halo and inscribed scroll in traditional Byzantine/Eastern Orthodox style. Old German labels on the reverse identify the figures as Prophet Jeremiah and Prophet Elias, state they are from the same iconostasis, and attribute them to approximately the end of the 16th century. Labels also reference later overpainting/restoration. Age and attribution are according to these labels and have not been independently authenticated. Condition shows significant age-related wear, including craquelure, cracking/splitting to the wooden panels, paint and edge losses, abrasions, and areas of old restoration/overpainting.
