Striking jet black glossy large 13" plates (larger than normal plates) and smaller 5.5" bread or dessert plates- 16 large ones & 8 small ones. Vintage arcoroc luminaric black glass coquilage. These are black glass (glass is dark amethyst ruby red making it jet black, and are rare collectibles). Vintage arcoroc luminaric black glass coquilage throughout and resistant to breakage. Dishwashable. These are not marked with the name on the underside but they are by Arcoroc. The clamshell detail is 1 1/4" deep and unique in form. They stack nicely. Made by J.G. Durand, Cristal d'Arques. Founded in 1927 near the French village of Arques, J. G. Durand and its glass tableware continues to enjoy acclaim today. The son of Georges Durand, owner of the prominent Verrerie Cristallerie d'Arques, Jacques G. Durand helped carry the company into the 20th century by modernizing the factory.
