Summary:
Important Ancient Buddha sculpted of stone in the Gandhara Greco-Buddhist tradition and seems of Museum Quality, depicting the Enlightened One with a spiral ushnisha, incised wavy locks, heavy-lidded eyes and elongated lobes above a modeled moustache and beard. The piece is likely from a larger standing figure with a flattened back from it's original architectural or sculpture context.the work has a pale calcified patina with weathering, minor edge losses and surface accretions consistent with age. We believe this dates to between 1st–5th century CE.
