Maker Bio: Ludwig Schmidt was a multi-generational producer of high-quality, usually custom furniture. At the turn of the century the firm worked with many well-known architects and furniture designers including Olbrich at the 1900 Paris World Exposition. After Ludwig the Elder's death in 1906, his widow and son, Ludwig the Younger, successfully continued the company, working with important designers including Hans Prutscher. The company was dissolved with the coming of WWII.
