Summary:
Jules Verne (French, 1828-1905), two illustrated volumes published in 1886, comprising Robur-le-Conquérant (Robur the Conqueror) and Un Billet de Loterie (The Lottery Ticket). From the celebrated Voyages Extraordinaires series published by Pierre-Jules Hetzel, Paris. Both volumes are presented in richly decorated red bindings with elaborate gilt and black ornamentation and central title medallions.

The interiors contain French text accompanied by numerous black-and-white illustrations, including full-page plates depicting scenes from Verne’s adventure narratives. Robur-le-Conquérant, one of Verne’s early works centered on heavier-than-air flight, was first published in 1886.
