Summary:
Armand Schonberger (1885-1974) signed cubist portrait oil on hardboard painting depicting a stylized woman rendered with angular features and a geometric modernist composition. Signed lower right. Housed in a black frame behind glass.

The work is signed Schonberger A. and assumed Armand Schonberger. we did locate a couple of examples of this signature variation on record. Schönberger painted in a composite of Modernist styles -- mostly Cubist, but with Fauvist coloring and perhaps a whiff of Futurism.

(Presents well with age-related wear, expected surface wear, scattered abrasions, and some areas of rubbing visible throughout. Frame with wear and some loss.)
