Summary:
Parthenis Konstantinos (attrib) Art Deco pastel on paper depicting a stylized male archer moving through a fantastical landscape populated by antelope-like animals, birds, and oversized tropical foliage. no signature located, but very closely related to a number of works. He studied painting in Vienna, under Karl Dieffenbach. In 1903, Parthenis settled in Greece and worked mainly as a painter of religious themes, from 1909 until 1914. He studied post-impressionist art in Paris, returning to Greece in 1915. From 1930 until 1946, Parthenis works broke with the Greek academic tradition of the 19th century and introduced modern art deco elements together in traditional themes. Work deserves some more more intensive scholarly review and attention
