Chiparus’s original Egyptian Dancer was produced in several variations and is documented in period bronze casts, including examples associated with the Etling foundry in Paris. The model reflects the strong influence of Egyptian imagery on European decorative arts following the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb in 1922. This example is unsigned and is cataloged as a later casting after the Chiparus model.
