Georg Wichmann was a German landscape painter associated with the artists’ colony at Schreiberhau in the Riesengebirge (Giant Mountains). Born in Löwenberg, Silesia, in 1876, Wichmann studied at the Berlin Academy of Arts under Anton von Werner before continuing his training in Breslau under Eduard Kaempffer and Carl Ernst Morgenstern and in Karlsruhe under Leopold von Kalckreuth. He settled in the Riesengebirge region in 1903 and devoted much of his career to landscape painting. In 1922, Wichmann became a founding member of the Vereinigung bildender Künstler St. Lukas in Schreiberhau. His landscapes are particularly noted for their Impressionist influence and atmospheric treatment of the mountainous and rural scenery of the region.

Works by Wichmann are represented in collections including the National Museum in Wroclaw, the Karkonosze Museum in Jelenia Góra, Haus Schlesien in Königswinter, and the Kulturwerk Schlesien Foundation in Würzburg. Wichmann died in Schreiberhau in 1944.
