Fuchs writes an explanatory letter concerning a photograph (no longer present) that his correspondent had sent him, ?The picture was taken at Olduvai Gorge in 1931 during Dr. L.S.B. Leakey?s East African Archaeological Expedition. Left to right: * Fuchs: Hopwood of the British Museum (Natural History): (?) visitor: Dr. Leakey: Prof. Dr. Hans Reck from Berlin who first investigated the Gorge in 1913: Dr. Donald MacInnes. All but me have now died......*At the time I was aged 23?, further referring to a map on the back of the photograph showing a snake farm, and asking ?Are you able to tell me the name and date of the publication from which it was cut?
