Nicknamed “Tom Terrific,” Seaver was one of baseball’s greatest pitchers, recording 311 career wins, 3,640 strikeouts and a 2.86 ERA. He won three Cy Young Awards, helped lead the 1969 “Miracle Mets” to a World Series championship, and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1992.
