Stunning vintage Japanese Arita style serving tureen. Exquisitely hand painted with mulit-colored enamel moriage work, gilt gold, burnt orange, and blues. Lid pull is a lovely flower/fruit pod yet to open surrounded by hand painted leaves and detailed in gold. The main vessel is covered with traditional Japanese buildings, mountain landscapes, lotus florals and more. Side handles are a beautiful rich gold.
Inspired by the Arita porcelain tradition known for its precision and artistry, this tureen is beautifully preserved with no flaws.. Would be a great addition to any Asian, Japanese, Chinese, or Chinoiserie decor.
