Stunning and intricate antique Chinese carved gilded wooden panel, often referred to as Chaozhou woodcarving. Rectangular form and finely carved in openwork with figural scenes in 3D carving from a temple or ancestral shrine depicting a battlefield scene with warriors on horseback. Has some numbers carved on back as well. Possibly from the late Qing Dynasty or early 20th Century. Absolutely beautiful in the detail. Excellent condition.
