Description
Late 19th to early 20th century Chinese Canton famille rose covered jar, beautifully decorated in the traditional all-over floral style associated with Guangzhou (Canton) export wares.
The surface features densely layered peonies, chrysanthemums, and stylized blossoms rendered in vibrant enamel colors with extensive hand-applied gilt tracery. Bands of cobalt blue and gold accent the shoulder and rim, adding structure to the richly detailed composition.
The domed lid remains original and intact - a notable advantage, as many examples from this period have lost their covers. The base is unmarked and fully glazed, consistent with export porcelain of the late Qing to early Republic period.
This piece offers strong visual impact at scale and works beautifully as:
* Entry table statement piece
* Chinoiserie accent
* Bookshelf focal object
* Traditional or layered interior styling
