Description
These guardian lions (or foo dogs in Western culture) are a traditional Chinese architectural and decorative ornament. The male stylized lion traditionally leans his right paw on an embroidered ball with a geometric pattern, while the female traditionally restrains a cub in her left paw (see photos). The two are believed to protect against evil spirits and people, and to confer power and prosperity on the home. Dimensions: 8"h x 3"w x 4"d.
