Description
A pair of turned wood architectural elements, likely salvaged newel post components, featuring a dark stained or torched finish that accentuates the natural wood grain and knots. The top surface of the shorter piece contains a central circular recess surrounded by a ring of small, regularly spaced pinholes, indicating a former mounting point for a separate fixture or ornament. No maker marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the bodies or bases of either piece. Taller element: 15.75 inches (height) Shorter element: 12.5 inches (height) Bases: 3.75 inches square.
