This American collection consists of handwoven wood splint baskets, metal utility containers, and a decorative wood specimen. The largest item is an oblong gathering basket constructed of woven wood splints with a reinforced double-wrapped rim. A heat-stamped mark on the underside of this basket reads LONGABERGER / BASKETS / HANDWOVEN U.S.A. in three lines. A second, smaller rectangular basket is included, featuring similar hand-woven wood splint construction and a single-rim top. The lot also contains two small metal vessels: a rectangular pan with a dark finish and a thin wire swing handle, and a shallow perforated metal tray with a curved handle. Completing the set is a section of natural burl wood or root with a high-gloss, deep amber polished finish, highlighting the organic knots and grain patterns.
