The standards are constructed from square-profile metal tubing finished in red and white paint and are mounted to circular cast metal weighted bases. The height is adjusted via a telescoping inner pole with a pin-and-hole system. The red outer sleeve of each standard features dual measurement scales in imperial and metric units. A white adhesive label with black text is adhered to each red sleeve and reads literally: WARNING: Use crossbar rest pins as installed by manufacturer for height settings. DO NOT use any other means of setting height. ONLY use this standard if this label is on the side adjusting handle which is away from the landing area. Use ONLY for its intended purpose. DO NOT REMOVE THIS LABEL. The imperial scale is marked in inches from 2 FT to 4 feet 10 inches, while the metric scale is marked in centimeters from 60 through 1M to 116 centimeters. The white inner poles provide additional graduated markings for competitive heights. The lightweight composite crossbar features weathered black lettering that includes the readable characters OT and the phrase BENDING OR BREAKING. Measurements: The red outer sleeves are graduated from 2 feet to 4 feet 10 inches on one scale and from 60 centimeters to 116 centimeters on the opposite scale.
