1982 Torch-Cut Metal Leaf Sculpture - 53" - Signed

Description

A striking and very large torch-cut metal leaf sculpture dating from the early 1980s. This impressive work (53" W * 38" H) is composed of more than fifty individually hand-cut and flame-colored leaves, each showing the organic variation and warmth characteristic of studio metalwork from the period.

The leaves display layered tones of copper, gold, and ember, achieved through skilled torch treatment. The branching structure is formed from solid rods with clean brazed joins, and the piece retains its original hand-formed brass hanging brackets, underscoring its artisan construction and one-of-a-kind nature.

A substantial and beautifully crafted vintage sculpture with elegant movement, depth, and rich patina throughout.
