Pair of Large antique carved oak throne chairs. Cane back and cane seat. Carved edge arms and legs. Intricate high back design. Beautiful antique.
Last photo is of the same chair (not part of a set) on display in the Royal Ontario Museum with the caption "Improvements in lathe technology meant that wood could be turned into spiral supports and spindles. Such spirals are used frequently on European furniture made between approximately 1650 and 1700.."
