Description
Hand-coiled Acoma Pueblo pottery jar, signed L. Antonio on the base. Measures approximately 7 inches tall by 7 inches wide.
The jar features a classic black-on-white design with an allover fine-line lattice often referred to as a snowflake or starburst pattern, accented with rain or cloud motifs near the rim. The line work is exceptionally precise, with refined spacing and consistent rhythm throughout the surface.
Although signed L. Antonio, the jar is clearly executed within the Frederica Antonio tradition, sharing the disciplined draftsmanship, thin and even wall thickness, and controlled surface treatment associated with her work and the broader Antonio family lineage.
A strong example of contemporary Acoma pottery, combining technical control with balanced form. The scale and clarity of the design give the piece a sculptural presence that works equally well on its own or as part of a grouped display.
Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Surface is clean and stable.
