This is an original woodblock print, part of a series depicting the fabrics and patterns found in my everyday surroundings.

the process:
After drawing my design, the image is carved into wood using chisels and gouges. Once the carving is complete, ink is rolled onto the surface of the block. Next, paper is placed on top of the block, and I use a hand tool to apply pressure, forcing the ink onto the paper. The result is the reverse image transferred to paper. The inks were printed on fine art paper, layering two different blocks to create the final image. This is a one of a kind print and will arrive to you signed and numbered under the image in pencil.

about my work:
I'm a full time artist with a BFA from Laguna College of Art & Design, where I majored in drawing and painting, working primarily from life and the nude figure. My work is inspired by nature, my everyday surroundings, and a collection of old photographs. I show in galleries and exhibitions in addition to selling directly from my studio.
