Description
Substantial small painting of a Swiss Mountain village by Otto Hamel (German, 1866-1950). A German Expressionist he studied at the Royal Art School in Erfurt under Eduard von Hagen & Hans Semper, continued his studies at the Berlin Academy, he was educated by Max Koch and Franz Skarbina. Followed by study trips to Italy, Holland, Spain, England and Paris, he was also involved with the Paris Impressionist movement. He returned to Germany and was a professor at the School of Applied Arts at Hannover. "Otto Hamel" lower right. Image, 9.5"H x 13"L.
