Description
This antique Arnold Steam Sterilizer upper chamber, manufactured by Wilmot Castle & Co. of Rochester, NY, is a striking piece of turn-of-the-century medical equipment. Based on the visible patent dates of 1882 and 1897, this heavy copper vessel was designed to sit atop a water-boiling base to circulate steam. It features the original stepped lid with a strap handle and clear stamped branding on the front. The piece is in good decorative condition, though it is missing its original heating base. The copper shows a rich, dark aged patina with scattered oxidation, minor surface abrasions, and small indentations consistent with age and previous clinical use. H 14", W 11.5", D 11.5". From the collection of Dale Beeks. Please see photos for condition.
