Description
An early brass and cast iron Morse telegraph sounder mounted on a finished wooden base, accompanied by an antique brass lever telegraph key. The sounder features twin electromagnetic coils, adjustable knurled thumb screws, and a brass anvil bridge on a mahogany-tone wood plaque with under-base wiring and brass feet. The standalone telegraph key displays classic 19th to early 20th-century construction with slotted adjustments, an oval mounting frame, and a dark vulcanite composition knob. Physical condition shows overall age-appropriate wear, including brass patina, surface tarnish, light oxidation on metal parts, surface scuffs, and minor chips on the wooden base and key knob edge; missing original connecting wires between key and sounder base. Base measures H 3.5", W 5.5", D 3". Key measures H 1.75", W 5.25", D 2.75". Please see photos for condition.
