The exterior is decorated with a powerful striding dragon with meticulously cross?hatched scales among floating cloud scrolls. A continuous scrolling foliate band runs along the inner rim, and a stylized flame motif is painted at the interior base. The cobalt blue presents a deep and saturated hue typical of imported Yuan?period smalt. The glaze tightly adheres to the porcelain body, and the exposed foot retains natural rust?red firing discoloration.
