A set of two French Provencal decorative boxes including a porte-couteaux, or knife rack, and a boite a sel, or salt box. Each made of walnut with fine hand-carved decoration. Waxed patina. These beautifully crafted household items were commonly given as a wedding gift and would be displayed on the wall and used in the kitchen. Circa 1950s.
