Description
Striking 1970s wall-mounted sconce featuring a pierced metal backplate with a repeating geometric lattice pattern. The dark patinated metal framework extends outward in a spare, sculptural arm terminating in a single socket and is paired with its original warm brown woven shade.
The contrast between the rigorous geometric metalwork and the natural texture of the shade gives the fixture an especially appealing 1970s designer look. The openwork backplate has an architectural quality reminiscent of decorative screens and grilles used in Mid-Century Modern interiors, while the curved arm adds a subtle sculptural element.
A handsome accent light for a library, bedroom, hallway, bar, or reading nook, particularly suited to Mid-Century Modern, Hollywood Regency, organic modern, or eclectic interiors.
The fixture retains its vintage socket, wiring, pull switch, and woven shade. The metal has an aged dark finish with expected patina and signs of use consistent with age. The shade also shows age and wear, adding to its authentic vintage character. Please review photographs for condition.
