This late 19th century two-piece Austrian step-back hutch in pine has a bright, sunny farmhouse presence with a touch of Art Nouveau flair. The upper cabinet steps back over a generous work surface, with glazed double doors for display above an open arched niche. Below, two drawers with brass pulls sit over paneled doors carved with bold circular motifs, all resting on shaped feet. The scrubbed, honey-toned pine shows attractive grain and a soft sheen.

Condition is very good for the age: the case is sturdy and doors and drawers operate smoothly, with scattered small dents, surface marks, and edge wear that read as normal country-house patina rather than damage.
