Description
(Hammeras, 1935-36) Three letters addressed to effects artist Ralph Hammeras. Included are a signed letter from Darryl Zanuck thanking him for attending the premiere of "Lloyds of London," a letter from the British Institute of Cinematography requesting Hammeras write for them about his "trick work," and a signed letter from Jesse Lasky, the founder of the future Paramount Pictures, who writes that working with Hammeras was one of the best memories of his entire career. The letters range in size from 5.5" x 8.75" to 8" x 10", all adhered to an 11" x 15.5" page from Hammeras' own scrapbook, with unrelated paper ephemera on the reverse. The letters display in good to very good condition with tape, stains, wear, corner folds, creases, and discoloration from age, with paper loss and edge wear on the stationery page.
