Description
(Disney, 1940) An original concept drawing of centaurettes for the Pastoral Symphony sequence of "Fantasia." Albert Hurter and Martin Provensen both contributed to the animation sequence and drew inspiration from the artwork of Arnold B?cklin, a moody symbolist painter; Franz von Stuck, an artist from the art nouveau era; and Heinrich Kley, an illustrator and painter. However, as the animation process progressed, the centaurs and centaurettes evolved from a realistic style to a more comedic and "cartoony" appearance. Measuring 10" x 12" overall, with the image area measuring 7" x 10", the drawing is in very good condition with minor edge wear, staple holes in the corners, and a stain from tape residue to the top right corner.
