Front shows a maltese cross with an eagle in each corner.
It shows a Kings crown with an F on the upper arm.
Reads Pour Le Merite on the other three arms.
Reverse is blank with dark blue enamel.
Top fan is maker marked JGUS (Joseph Godet & Sohn).
Includes the presentation machine embroidered cloth woven cotton ribbon.
Measures 3 5/8 inches wide by 1 3/16 inches tall.
This was to have been worn on the uniform lapel.
This was Germanys highest valor award for gallantry in combat action during World War I. Measures 1 1/2 inches wide by 1 5/8 inches tall.
