Three Nineteenth Century shawls, the first, English, printed in Indian style with boteh and stylized foliate motifs in purple with ocher on finely-woven Challis silk and wool, circa 1830 - 1850, the second, of white Honiton type applique on net lace, circa 1840 - 1860, and the third, also possibly a flounce, Brussels applique lace, circa 1820 - 1840.;{Approximate dimensions: 66 1/2" x 124", 31 1/2" x 148" and 20 1/4" x 123 1/2".}. Provenance: As previously sold at Sotheby's, mid 1990s.
Condition
Tears and shattering to selvedge edges and ends of the first, the second and third with tears, holes, losses, loose threads, lace with slight browning, some stains primarily to off white example.;Please contact the Furniture and Decorative Arts Department for a detailed condition report on this lot.
