This piece is a "Guan ware" open piece celadon glaze spit vessel / slops bowl style small vessel, with a Japanese wooden box inscribed "Southern Song dynasty Guan ware spit vessel". The shape of the vessel is an open mouth, corseted waist, bulging belly, and ringed feet. The whole body is covered with a pale green-white/pink-green glaze, and is covered with ice-cracked flakes. The exposed feet are ocher brown, and the bottom is also flaked. The overall shape imitates the Southern Song dynasty Guan ware / Ge ware aesthetic of "purple mouth, iron foot, and glazed flakes."
