The stylish lid features a knob that is made in the form of an artichoke; foliate themes echoed by two scroll-form handles fashioned onto the sides as acanthus leaves. The brilliant white glaze is clean and appears unblemished, making an elegant presentation of the most humble of soup, stew, or gumbo. The vessel rests on a pedestal base. With its subtle styling, this antique serving piece is intrinsically beautiful, both on and off the table.
