Beautiful English Ridgways Devonshire brown transferware pitcher with the backstop dating it to 1880-1885. This unusually shaped piece is decorated in the Aesthetic Movement style, influenced by Japanese art and representing plants and animals in a natural way. It was the start of the Art Nouveau style. A rare find, a nearly identical piece is on display in the Brooklyn Museum.
