Super decorative pieces and sizeable early Antique Thai Teppanom Carved Wood Polychromed Guardian Statues or Figures. Guardians of Buddha.
Very early statues, likely a pair of male and female figures in traditional Thai costume. The carving is exquisite revealing the personalities of each figure. One coloured in a soft blue palette and the other in muted rose colours. Gentle colours tempered by age.
No markings.
Late 19th Century.
Condition is typical from this period. Loss to wood and glass mirror beads in a few places. They still have a beautiful attraction to them, and very eye catching display pieces as well as being somewhat rare due to their size.
Superb decorator pieces for home, office or Asian business.
