A Lovely Piece of Hand Embroidery in brilliant colors of white greens, yellows, blue, brown, black, and lavender against a rich solid red background. There are silver and gold metallic threads used throughout the embroidery that provides a bit of tasteful sparkle. The surrounding areas have borders of white and light yellow rice paper. The back of the piece is solid black and each corner has a protective silver cover.

I obtain this screen at a Maryland Chesapeake Bay area auction and I suspect it came from one of the Navy Military Families at the Patuxent Naval Air Base nearby probably brought home after being stationed at one of the US bases in Asia.

Condition Notes: The screen is in excellent antique condition. There are two punctures in the back one smaller than a quarter, the other a dime. They do not penetrate onto the front. There are less than dime size spots on the plain paper below the red blocking - also a surface scrape but not deep.
There is a 2-inch rough spot of the wood frame but is not visible from the front view. There is a inch torn piece in the fold area but no missing pieces of paper. Please ask any questions you might have.
