Description
A very finely constructed carved and gilt Louis XIV style painting frame. The frame is an absolutely exquisite work of art in itself and is ready to receive an old master or classic French or Italian work of art. The frame bears a Christie's label and formerly housed a work from the Circle of David Teniers II. It is a good, standard, size.
The frame is believed to have been made by the House of Heydenryk from an antique work. Heydenryk was renowned for recreating antique masterpieces in their atelier.
Provenance: Ex-House of Heydenryk collection.
