A very pretty old Chinese trinket box constructed of pure jade panels - this is a lot of jade!. The pieces of jade are supported by a frame work of cloisonne that is decorated with delicate shades of blue, turquoise and green enamelled flowers & leaves.
The top/lid has a semi precious stone flower arrangement growing upwards from a 'rock' that includes Carnelian stone.
The lid opens to reveal the inside with gilt work. The box rests on tiny Ming style feet.
Some of the semi precious stone applique is missing.
The base is solid brass marked 'China'.
A delightful and rare little jade box to be treasured.
