Description
Wonderful highboy gentleman's chest of drawers from the early 20th century. The piece is beautifully crafted with a bow front, dovetail joints, five drawers, a cabinet, a detachable round beveled mirror, and locks with a working key. It is made of mahogany with contrasting wood inlaid details. A wonderful piece of storage for the bedroom or boudoir.
Overall dimensions are 22" wide x 17" deep x 66" high to top of mirror, and 47" high to chest surface.
Mirror is 17" diameter.
Top two drawers measure 8" wide x 12-1/2" deep x 3-3/4" high.
Cabinet measures 9" wide x 12-1/2" deep x8" high.
Center drawer measures 17-1/4" wide x 12-1/2" deep x 5-1/4" high with four newer 4" wide dividers.
Lower two drawers measure 17-1/4" wide x 12-1/2" deep x 6-1/2 " high.

Condition Notes: Very good antique condition with wear from age and normal use. Middle drawer has newer dividers added later. Legs and top are a little nicked up (photo 6). The right mirror 'handle' is bent (photo 12). Minor loss of veneer to top right edge (photo 11). Mirror frame has been repaired (photo 10). Mirror has a 'wiped' look under the surface and minor desilvering. See all photos.
