This is a wonderful pair of framed original oil on canvas paintings by J. A. Boel. The paintings depict a brooding Northern English landscape where Boel drew inspiration from for most of his work (he also painted Scottish landscapes, so it's possible this art may be there).

One of the paintings is signed: "J. A. Boel '86" (1886). The other painting is unsigned since Boel I assume always meant them to always be together as a pair.

The frames on both paintings measures: 12 1/8" x 18 1/4" x 1 5/8". Each actual canvas / painting measures 13 1/2' width x 7 1/2" height. Each painting weighs approx 2lbs 11oz.

This may suffice for the eventual owner or they may decide to insert a couple of pins / nails to secure it more. The Boel signed painting also needs a new wire to hang it to a wall.
