Description
This is a wonderful pair of framed original oil on canvas paintings by J. A. Boel. The paintings depict a brooding Northern English landscape where Boel drew inspiration from for most of his work (he also painted Scottish landscapes, so it's possible this art may be there).
One of the paintings is signed: "J. A. Boel '86" (1886). The other painting is unsigned since Boel I assume always meant them to always be together as a pair.
The frames on both paintings measures: 12 1/8" x 18 1/4" x 1 5/8". Each actual canvas / painting measures 13 1/2' width x 7 1/2" height. Each painting weighs approx 2lbs 11oz.
All our items are well packed, tracked and fully insured. They will arrive to you in the exact condition as pictured.
VINTAGE CHUCK SAYS: This is a unique original pair, so don't delay if you want to make the two paintings yours. :o)
**Pair of Original J. A. Boel Framed Oil on Canvas Paintings, Late 1800s Antique Mountain Landscape Art, Rare Collectible Artwork, #0190bJW**
Condition:
Alterations: Original Condition Unaltered
Imperfections: Some Imperfections
Condition Notes: CONDITION PLEASE READ: These paintings show definite signs of age and wear as all great antique items do. The frames are both solid yet marked in places and the finish is missing in places. The actual images have minor markings / blemishes in places - essentially around the edges. This does not detract from the quality of the art though... if anything the overall 'wear' (including frames) just adds to the aesthetic of these pieces wonderfully. Examine all the pictures closely. Zoom in & out to get a good sense of their exact condition: a picture tells a thousand words. The Boel signed painting is loose in the frame and is currently held in with tape. This may suffice for the eventual owner or they may decide to insert a couple of pins / nails to secure it more. The Boel signed painting also needs a new wire to hang it to a wall. The painting photos serve as a document as to their condition. You will receive the exact pair pictured here.
