Enjoy the quiet, solitude, and contemplative imagery of this pair of American landscape still life paintings. The canvas art is surrounded by one and one-half inch depth dark stained ridged frames enhanced by an angled bright gold leaf inset highlighting the artwork. The style is expressionist with impressionistic influences in warm autumnal colors of oil paints of ochre, lavender, burgundy, off white with muted greens and browns.

One of the pair of paintings is warm, nostalgic with a farmhouse surrounded by a cluster of trees and a little dramatic with the zigzag road in the contrast gold and purple colors. The second painting, depicts the quiet solitude of snow capped mountains and landscape with a frozen pond in the foreground with a more tempered tone of sloping hills capturing either the sunrise or sunset in soft pastel hues. Both paintings appear to be signed "W. Barker" and were custom framed in 1962 in Abilene, Texas.

Both pieces emphasize atmosphere, color, and contrast with an emotional tone and would look great for Americana, Rustic Southwestern, Cabin Farmhouse or transitional decor and would be an excellent choice to be "keepers" in your home!
