Amazing American Empire figured mahogany drop front desk. It is an earlier example of this style showcasing columns and animal paw feet. Wonderful large shell carving on the front. Beautiful highly figured mahogany was used in the manufacture.

This was produced approximately between 1815 - 1825 probably in New York. It has the normal and typical amount of use, aging, and damage that is expected from a piece that is about 200 years old (even an interesting burn mark on the side). It also has many different restorations that occurred over that time. This is they type of furniture that you wish could speak.

Heights is about 42 inch. Width is about 32 1/8 inch. Depth is about 20 1/2 inch.

Makes a stunning presentation and is still usable.
