Vintage Parrot Figurine Blue and White Chinoiserie

Excellent condition. This is a fun and whimsical figurine in blue and white chinoiserie style. Parrots are a favorite object for artists for many reasons. They find an interesting and powerful meaning in parrots -- they're protrayed as a mirror to us humans . They mock us and our behavior. They see the world differently, without filter. In art, they act as our personal mirror where they tell us exactly what they feel.

This is a gorgeous vintage chinoiserie parrot figurine, with a hand painted design in classic blue and white. This is pre-1970s, however there is no maker's mark, but the little holes that where the pins held up the bird for glazing can be seen on its tail, and under the wings. The detail is just magnificent.

Measures 7-1/2" tall by about 10" long and 6" deep. The base is about 3-1/2" in diameter. In good vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing. The bird weighs about 2 pounds and will be carefully boxed for shipping.
